SPECIFICATIONS

 

Stairwell Power Washing

  • Power wash stairwells, including doors, walls, and stairs within each stairwell
  • Power washing will be required for all lots. A recovery system will be required at stairwell landings
  • Must provide water collection method in each staircase, dumping available at most sites or a designated location will be provided on campus for water dumping into sanitary connection
  • Electrical outlets and water supply provided at each location
  • Cleaning is scheduled during weekday evenings (4pm to 10pm) or weekend hours (7am-10pm)
  • Pay stations in stairwells must be properly covered to prevent any water damage
  • Transportation Services will provide all parking permits required for projects
  • Transportation Services will develop schedule based on priority and business needs with Contractor for locations to be cleaned
  • All Electrical outlets and Signs should be covered to protect from water damage
  • Provide description of equipment used for process of cleaning
  • Identify any kind of chemical cleaner (if any) available with power washing
  • Water can be provided on campus at parking facilities with fire or garden hose connection
  • Waste water can be dumped on site in sanitary sewer, locations provided by Transportation Services
  • Document the amount of water used to clean stairwells, there will be no charge for use of water on site
  • Locations will be signed by Transportation Services for closure
  • Any barriers such as cones should be provided by Contractor
  • Provide proof of insurance
  • Removal of any graffiti on walls or floor
  • Removal of all pooled water due to the service being performed
  • No overtime will be permitted in the performance of the service
  • The floor drains will not be used for disposal of waste water from this service.  The expectation is to pump waste material into a recovery tank with University staff giving a designated location where the waste water can be dumped.  Most ramps have either none or only one sanitary pit which is located at the bottom of each ramp.  Dumping into the sanitary pits after all water is collected will be allowed. 
    • NOTE:  An example of past procedures had been to sandbag the bottom of the stairwells and a pump was used to run water to the Contractors recovery tank where it was then dumped into one of 7 on campus sanitary pit locations.  Again, this is an example and should not be implied as the only resolution to removing used water.

 

Stairwell and Elevator Window Washing

  • Wash and squeegee all interior and exterior windows for parking facility stairwells and elevator towers
  • Clean and remove any debris or dirt on sills in stairwells or elevator shaft window sills
  • Must provide within quote cost for lift, lift system not provided
  • Lot 46 one set of windows are on Johnson Street, must provide traffic redirection plan and blocking of street for cleaning making arrangements with City of Madison for closure.  Any and all costs associated with traffic redirection will not be billed as additional costs to the University.
  • Transportation Services will provide elevator technician for elevator shaft window cleaning
  • Identify any kind of chemical cleaner (if any) available with window washing
  • Lifts can be stored at locations and should be coordinated with Transportation Services The University is not responsible for storage or any damage that may occur to the lift or any other equipment while in storage
  • Water can be provided on campus at parking facilities with fire or garden hose connection
  • Locations will be Signed by Transportation Services for closure
  • Any barriers such as cones should be provided by Contractor
  • Provide proof of insurance
  • Removal of any graffiti on walls or floor
  • Removal of all pooled water due to the service being performed
  • Lots 17, 36 and 46 have glass windows in the elevator shafts.  All glass windows should be included in your pricing for being cleaned (including the inside of double glass windows, Lot 46 is an example).
  • No overtime will be permitted in the performance is the service
