SCOPE:
Proposal for the services rental of sound system (s) and sound engineering services.
The Wisconsin Union, the University’s Division of Social Education, is an integral part of the educational program of the University, complementing the classroom experience with out-of-class learning opportunities. It is a setting in which students can develop leadership skills and experience personal fulfillment. The Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) is the student programming board of the University, and offers over one thousand events yearly in Memorial Union, Union South and other campus and community venues. There are eleven committees with over 300 volunteers, each committee having a permanent staff advisor to assist them. Every year, new officers, committee directors and coordinators are appointed, and committee members are recruited.
The WUD Music & Entertainment Committee is composed of UW-Madison students and provides concert and entertainment programming in Club 770, der Rathskeller, the Memorial Union Terrace, the Union Theater, the Red Oak Grill, Great Hall, Tripp Commons, Library Mall, Music Hall and other venues year-round. A full-time staff advisor is present for continuity, fiscal management, training and guidance. On average, there are 35 committee members per semester. These committee members are responsible for the selection and implementation of Rathskeller, Terrace, Club 770 and other programs: negotiations, booking of entertainment and vendors, promotion, covering night-of-show, and evaluating the shows. You will be working directly with the committee advisor and director, as well as the core group of committee members and Wisconsin Union building staff. |

March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009, with automatic renewal extensions to
February 28, 2013, unless amended, cancelled or rebid. The University reserves the right to extend beyond the Contract Term if deemed to be in the best interest of the University. |
