SPECIFICATIONS
- The University purchases goods which require specialized equipment to receive and set in place. Many of these items are extremely large, bulky or of extreme weight. Also many University departments have large pieces of equipment which at times require moving to different locations, floors, buildings or offices.
- The Contractor must be able to provide services requiring the receipt and delivery of large items directly from manufacturers and deliver and install them at the University on a regular basis.
- The Contractor must also be able to respond to emergency needs of the University within two hours. Normally the University will be able to give successful vendor 24 hours or more notice, but emergencies will arise which will require response within 2 hours or less notice.
- The Contractor should also be able to do moving of regular office furniture.
- The Contractor must agree to meet and accept any deliveries made to a railroad line in order to receive goods directly from the manufacturer for the University. Storage capabilities must be included where goods/ equipment will be warehoused for the University.
- The Contractor must have their own cranes which can load and unload heavy machinery/equipment on or off railroad flat cars and through windows of at least (minimum) 100 feet in the air.
- The Contractor must be able to move items weighing up to 70 tons each.
- The Contractor must have the ability to provide rigging when necessary.
- The Contractor must be able to shim, hitch level and align pieces of equipment.
- Contractor must have covered telephone service from 8:00 a.m. CT to 5:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday in order to respond promptly to requests for service.
- Contractor shall provide unlimited call-back service during normal business hours.
- Contractor shall operate or provide service during the hours of 8:00 a.m. CT to 5:00 p.m., CT Monday through Friday, excluding holidays as normal business hours.
