SCOPE: Contract with a Fresh Produce Prime Vendor to furnish, including but not limited to:  processed produce (fruits and vegetables), bulk produce, fresh herbs and edible flowers.

 

The University may purchase local produce directly from a farmer, through a distributor or through a cooperative if in the best interests of the University.

 

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Campus has approximately 40,000 students and 18,000 faculty and staff.  The University has three separate departments that provide food service for the Madison Campus.  These three departments operate independently and have unique requirements.  Although the University recognizes that standardization is important, each food service department will make independent decisions based on the needs of their customers.

Delivery: 6 days per week - Monday through Saturday, including MLK Day, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Delivery may be required on other holidays. Department must be notified of any deliveries that will be more than one hour past the normal scheduled delivery window. Early deliveries may be requested in emergency situations.
Invoicing: Invoices shall reflect contract pricing.
Return Policy:

Contractor shall accept returns without a restocking fee under the following, but not limited to, conditions:

  • product shipped or ordered in error
  • product damaged in shipment or with compromised packaging
  • product with concealed damage
  • product under recall
  • product that does not meet quality requirements
  • product in unsanitary condition
  • product that exceeds the minimum/maximum required temperature.
Back Orders: Will notify the University if any ordered item is out of stock or shorted within 2 hours of University placing the order.
Other: Pricing not available to: University of Wisconsin System campuses, State of Wisconsin Agencies and Wisconsin Municipalities.

Cost Plus Mark-up percentage for whole produce:          2.98%

Cost Plus Mark-up percentage for processed produce:    2.98%
