PURPOSE AND ROLE OF THE SERVICE CENTER
Provide appointment, payroll and benefits operational services to all UW institutions and System Administration on behalf of UW System Administration.
Functional responsibilities include the development, maintenance and communication of processes and procedures that:
- Are consistent with legal and statutory framework
- Effectively and efficiently achieve business requirements
- Balance the long-term goals and objectives of each UW institution and other stakeholders
- Consider the diverse environments and needs of each institution while implementing standard business practices
- Satisfy generally accepted business standards and practices
Technical responsibilities include the development and maintenance of an automated system structure that:
- Efficiently and effectively achieves business requirements
- Supports and enhances the ability of functional users to meet their business requirements by maximizing human and capital resources
- Incorporates long-term and strategic business goals approved by the Executive Committee
- Is flexible and responsive to business changes
- Maintains the security, confidentiality and integrity of date
