Purpose and Overview

Purpose

This instruction manual applies to the (former Warf) University of Wisconsin campuses. The Payroll Translation Table that is on the Unix server is similar to the Account Code Table that was phased out from the 4381 mainframe. Efforts have been made to have the new table function like the old table. Some enhancements have been made along with some differences in functionality that can be done with this web-based application. This document will explain the screens and some of the functionality associated with them.

Overview of Screens

There are five screens involved in the application. They are illustrated in the various sections in this manual

1) Main Menu Screen (to choose between Payroll Translation Table, UDDS Lookup and Fiscal Year Change Screens).
2) Payroll Translation Table Screen.
3) Payroll Translation Table Edit/Add/Delete Screen.
4) UDDS Look-up Screen.
5) Fiscal Year Change Screen (limited use to only UW DoIT/Human Resource Applications Production Support).

Print Screen

To print a screen, push the Print Screen button, open a Word document and paste. Then, print the Word document.

Security

1) Users will have access to all screens listed above.
2) Users will be differentiated by campus location. For example, users at Eau Claire will only have access to items related to Unit=C. They would not be able to do any lookup, maintenance, or adding of items to other campuses (which are identified by Unit).
3) UWPC users will have access to do all functions for any campus.
4) The Fiscal Year Change screen will only be accessible by an UW DoIT-Human Resource Applications designated person. This will ensure that the correct changes in processing fiscal year are done for the weekly extracts that are performed on the Account Code Table.

Access

To use the application and its screens, users will go to the UWPC Home page and select Production Systems. Users will have to enter their user logon-id and password along with identifying which database to connect. The user will enter “UWT1” for the test database or “UWP1” for the production database. If a user does not have access, they will have to request this from the UWPC.
