MISSION AND GOALS

The following statements of SWAP's Mission and Goals were developed by SWAP staff. We are deeply committed to these statements and strive to continuously improve upon our program.

Mission:

SWAP will efficiently and effectively collect, process and redistribute unneeded surplus property generated by UW-Madison and other state agencies. This will be achieved in accordance with the mission of the UW-Madison Purchasing Services.

Goals:

• Provide UW-Madison departments, government agencies and non-profit organizations with low-cost, quality surplus equipment and supplies.
• Be a responsible environmental steward for the University by finding reuse and recycling markets for surplus property and by encouraging departments and developing programs to reduce waste and purchase environmentally friendly products.
• Operate as a self-supported program.
• Maximize financial credits to departments for equipment sold by SWAP.
• Serve customers through continuous program development and support.
• Efficiently remove surplus equipment from buildings on campus.
