SWAP Sales Policy

Terms and Conditions of Sales

Supplies and equipment for sale by SWAP are sold as is with no warranty, no guarantee, no returns, and no exchanges. All sales are final. All items should be tested on site prior to purchase when able. 

Payment Methods Accepted

  • Public Store Sales – Cash, Personal Check, Business Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Visa, MasterCard
  • Public Auction Sales - (Monday through Thursday) – Personal Check, Business Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Visa, Mastercard
  • UW Departments and State Agencies – MD Account Number, Procurement Card 

Public Sale Day Policies and Procedures

Prices for items available for sale will be marked on the item, clearly displayed on the stand, or found on a price guide available throughout the store. Items found un-priced on sale days may be priced on the spot or removed from the sales floor at the discretion of SWAP employees.

Some items on the sales floor may not be available for public sale. Occasionally items are restricted to departmental purchasing only or the item is not available for sale until it has been fully processed by SWAP staff.

Items too large to carry must have a hold placed on it by a SWAP employee. All sold items not taken at the time of purchase must have a sold tag placed on the item by the customer with the customer's name and phone number clearly written on it. All sold items found without a sold tag or sold items not picked up on time will be placed back on the floor for resale. There will be no refunds or exchanges for items placed back on the floor.

All items must be picked up by 3:30pm two business days after the date of purchase. SWAP employees are willing to assist with loading of merchandise as a courtesy; however SWAP employees will not assist:

  • if the loading is deemed unsafe
  • if the item clearly will not fit
  • with tying down items to trailers or vehicle roofs. 

SWAP will not be responsible for any damage to purchased items or customer vehicles while moving or loading.

Customers are expected to behave civilly towards each other and to SWAP staff at all times. Items will not be sold to customers who run or shove others in the store. Changes in prices of supplies or equipment can be done by the SWAP Manager ONLY. Harassment of SWAP employees over pricing will not be tolerated. 

Any item may be removed from the sale process at any time if it is determined to be in the best interest of the University.
