Can I hold an item via phone or email?

No. All holds and subsequent purchases from our sales floor must be done in person on the day of the sale.

Can SWAP deliver my purchase to me?

SWAP can only deliver to UW departments and State Agencies within the Madison and Verona limits. We do make arrangements to ship online auction purchases via UPS and the purchaser pays all shipping costs.

How long do I have to pick up my purchase?

Store purchases must be picked up within two business days of purchase unless prior arrangements have been made with SWAP staff. Purchases not picked up on time will be placed back on the floor for resale. If purchased on Tuesday, you have until Thursday at 4:00 to pick up your item(s). If purchased on Friday or Saturday, you have until Tuesday at 4:00 to pick up your item(s).

There will be no refunds, exchanges, or credit given for items placed back on the floor. Online auction items must be paid for within 5 business days of winning-bidder notification and picked up within 10 business days unless prior arrangements have been made with SWAP staff.

I work for a department or non-profit.  Can I make personal purchases on Thursdays?

No. All purchases on department and non-profit sale days must be used by the department or non-profit organization.

Do you accept donations or drop-offs from the public?

No. Everything for sale at SWAP has been purchased using State, Federal, or Grant monies.

Can I be on an "alert" list to let me know when a specific type of item becomes available?

No. Every sale through SWAP must be done through a competitive process where everyone has an equal chance at purchasing. Alerting individuals would constitute preferential treatment.

Does SWAP work with schools and municipalities?

Yes. We encourage schools and municipalities to save money by purchasing furniture, equipment, and supplies from SWAP.  Anyone with permission from a school or municipality can request an appointment to purchase Monday through Wednesday or come in on Thursday or Friday.
