Funding String Validation Tool
A new funding string validation tool will be made available through WISDM with the Program Release. The tool will be available in the WISDM menu for all authorized WISDM users wanting to validate a funding string.
There are two ways that the funding string validation tool may be used:
- This tool will provide the same functionality as the funding validations that will be done through the new external requisition generator (which provides the same type of validations as the current 3270 transaction EPRQ), meaning that the user will be able to enter an SFS funding string to determine its validity.
- The user can enter a project id and department to see the available funding strings for the entered combination.
This tool can be used to validate any funding strings to be entered on paper forms before submittal and processing. Units providing internal services or those producing and receiving internal work orders may also use this tool to validate the funding provided on those forms to ensure that cost transfers and billings are done correctly.
