Automated Travel System (ATS) Replaces Travel Expense Reimbursement Form

The Automated Travel System (ATS) Replaces all Legacy reimbursement and travel advance processes. Implementation of the ATS application will affect all employees and non-employees who will be reimbursed by UW Madison.

  • Web-based: complete a reimbursement request from any internet connection, emphasis on self-service
  • Paperless transaction processing and electronic approvals using Workflow technology
  • Streamlined approval process
  • Automatic assignment of account codes based on data entered
  • Business rules and location limits are built into the application, eliminating the need for redundant reviews
  • Local receipt retention
  • Direct deposit of employee reimbursements
  • Standardized and timely training of all staff involved in the reimbursement process, prior to implementation

Timeline

  • April 2008 -- Program pilot starts in selected divisions and department.
  • August 2008 -- Campus rollout begins on a department by department basis.
  • July 2009 -- All travelers to be using the ATS.
