Month End Closing Changes for the 2008 Program Release
With the Program Release on February 8, 2008, we will no longer be relying on the legacy month end closing process.
How Does This Affect Campus?
The month end closing date will switch from the last Friday of each month (as happened in legacy) to the last day of each calendar month. This process will begin in February 2008, making Friday, February 29, 2008 the first new closing date.
For example, the second month end closing after the Program Release will occur in March 2008 on Monday March 31, 2008 instead of on Friday March 28, 2008.
Accounting Services and RSP will carry out month end closing activities together. As usual, the Journal Entry Tool (JET) will not be available on the last day of each month. We will still need a couple of days to finish up month end closing before the WISDM data is ready for monthly reports. Accounting will continue distributing pre-closing and post closing emails (as is currently done) each month to the campus to notify you of closing schedules and the readiness of WISDM data for month end reporting.
