SCOPE: Contract for Seed Potato Testing.
The Department of Plant Pathology’s Seed Certification Program requires a winter test program for seed potato lots as an integral part of their seed potato programs. Functionally, a 400-tuber sample per 50 planted acres per seed lot is collected at harvest (September-October). In years past, lots were shipped in late October, planted in early November and inspected in January for disease and mixture incidence. Over 600 samples planted on about 19 acres of land comprise each year's test. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
