SPECIFICATIONS

1.       PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS
         1.1    All products delivered to the University must comply with all Federal Pure Food Laws and Regulations and applicable Wisconsin law.

         1.2    Nutritional content must be made available to the Food Service Units upon request for all product listed on the Itemized Bid List.

         1.3    All cheese must be packaged according to the most current sanitary methods; vacuum sealing in plastic film is desirable.

2.       PRODUCT SUBSTITUTION
         2.1    If necessary to complete a shipment on time, a product substitution may be considered.  The product substituted must be of equal or better quality and/or grade. Before an item is substituted, Contractor must receive approval from Angie Erickson (608-262-9619), or her designee.  The University will pay the bid price or less for substituted items

3.       DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS
         3.1    Minimum delivery charges or stop charges are not allowed.

         3.2    Delivery is required within three (3) working days for stock items after receipt of a purchase order or release order.

         3.3    Deliveries are required five days per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.  Deliveries may be required on the following University Holidays:  Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.

         3.4    The Contractor must notify the ordering department of any back order, discontinuation of product or other delays in shipping within four (4) hours of receipt of a purchase order or release order.

         3.5    Delivery is to be made in a clean, enclosed, temperature controlled vehicle, free of foul odors.  Temperatures of product at time of delivery should be 40ºF for refrigerated products and 0ºF for frozen products.

         3.6    Individual package or shipping containers must be plainly marked with the kind, variety, count (if applicable), and net contents contained therein, and the name of the manufacturer or packer.  Packages or containers delivered to the food service units that are not properly marked, may be cause for rejection.
