SPECIFICATIONS

Mailer to consist of inner Styrofoam Shipping Container and Lid with imprinted Corrugated Outer Box Mailers.   NOTE: The State Lab of Hygiene does not intend use the products for shipping of Hazardous, Infectious or Diagnostic material.

The following specifications represent acceptable requirements.  Dimensions stated are the ones currently in use.  Dimensions may vary up to, but no more than 1” for any measurement, for Items #1 and #3 only.  Item #2 is firm as specified.

All items are to be shipped with Styrofoam Shipping Container nested inside Outer Box Mailer with lids separate on top of nested stack either on pallets or in master cartons.

ITEM I

1.  The Styrofoam Shipping Container:
a.         must consist of one piece plus a lid                                                                    
b.         inside dimension must be approximately 8”L x 6”W x 4-3/4” H 
c.         walls must be approximately 1-1/2” thick – maximum of 1 9/16” thick
d.         lid must be designed with a chamfer that fits inside the mailer  
e.         must be packaged inside the corrugated outer container specified below (must be “snug” fit so there is no movement or slippage of container within mailer)

2.  Corrugated Outer Box Mailer:
a.         must be constructed of white 200# or 32 ECT corrugated crush proof material
b.         surface of box must allow adhering of gummed mailing labels and postage/airmail tapes.
c.         must be labeled in blue ink with special handling instructions using at least 18 point type size the following
· two sides (long sides of the box):

a.         must consist of one piece plus a lid                                                                    
b.         inside dimension must be  6”L x 4-1/2”W x 3” H                                                   
c.         walls must be a minimum of 1” thick – maximum of 1 1/16” thick                          
d.         lid must be designed with a chamfer that fits inside the mailer                               
e.         must be packaged inside the corrugated outer container specified below                

2.  Corrugated Outer Box Mailer
a.         size must be 8 ½” L x 7 1/8” N x5 ½” H                                                                    
b.         must be constructed of white 200# or 32 ECT corrugated crush proof material
c.         surface of box must allow adhering of gummed mailing labels and postage/airmail tapes.
d.         must be labeled in blue ink with special handling instructions using at least 18 point type size the following
· two sides (long sides of the box):

c.         walls must be approximately  1 1/8” thick – maximum of 1 1/4” thick
