SPECIFICATIONS

 

i.

Respiratory Virus Panel Tests and Instrumentation Specifications

1.

The respiratory virus panel assay must include Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV A, RSV B, Adenovirus B/C/E, Parainfluenza 1, Parainfluenza 2, Parainfluenza 3, Parainfluenza 4, human Rhinovirus, human Metapneumovirus, Coronaviruses HKU1, NL63, 229E and OC43. In addition, the panel must be able to subtype influenza A (H1, H3 and 2009 H1) or equivalent.

2.

The instrument must be capable of testing at least 24 specimens within 8 hours or equivalent.

3.

The instrument must have random access capability of running up to 24 specimens independently or equivalent.

4.

Detection of the respiratory virus analyte signals must be generated by specific hybridization of ferrocene-labeled signal probes or equivalent.

5.

The instrument must not generate any liquid waste.

6.

The instrument must not require a daily or monthly calibration before testing specimens or equivalent.

7.

Interpretation of test results must not be subjective and include cut-off thresholds or equivalent.

8.

Instrument has versatility to allow for one sample or up to 24 specimens to be tested independently in one test run in an 8 hour period or equivalent.

9.

Human rhinovirus probes must have no cross reaction with most human enteroviruses without results being confirmed by an alternative method or equivalent.

10.

Instrument must include a 12 month warranty or equivalent.

11.

Company must provide a reagent rental option in lieu of capital equipment purchase or equivalent.

12.

Contractor must be able to provide one (1) bulk delivery for each year. The Contractor
should price for one delivery per year and one production cycle per year. Product must
be all of one production lot.

13.

The respiratory virus panel assay must be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for in vitro diagnostic testing.

14.

Contractor must provide documentation including package inserts and instrument
operation must be included.

15.

Instrument must be capable of being networked to the IT system and export result files.
