SCOPE: University Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (CTRI) is a national leader in conducting and implementing cutting-edge research on treating tobacco use. The Center’s focus is twofold: to better understand tobacco dependence and to increase the use of effective treatments to help smokers quit for good.
          
The analyses will help quantify the use of both cigarettes and alternate tobacco products in a random sample of dual use individuals.  This information will be used along with other data sources to explore dependence level, compensatory use, and refine future cessation treatments.

Weck Laboratories will utilize more sensitive equipment.  Analysis will be performed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry electro-spray positive ionization mode.
