SPECIFICATIONS

All products delivered to the University must be guaranteed to comply with all Federal Pure Food Laws and Regulations and to applicable Wisconsin Laws.

Nutritional content must be made available to the Food Service units upon request by the University for all products listed.

Coffee -- Whole Bean Coffee shall be supplied in five (5) lbs bags.  Package size requirements are subject to change if needs require; however, price per pound will stay the same.
Coffee shall be vacuum or foil filmed package with one way value, packed within 5 hours of roasting, blending, and flavoring.  Product shall be delivered not more than two (2) days after roasting with guaranteed product shelf life stated on the package.
Fair Trade CoffeeContractor must be able to provide for trade coffee certified and labeled by Transfair.
Organic CoffeeContractor must be able to provide for certified organic coffee.

Grinders - Proposer ProvidedContractor shall provide at no cost to the University a minimum of 14 two-sided grinders, 9 single grinders and 3 grocery store grinders to be used with coffees listed.  Contractor is to provide all maintenance including parts and labor for the grinders provided.  For any grinder needing service which takes more than 24 hours (one day), a loaner machine must be provided.  Locations for the grinders are provided below.

Additional grinders may be needed during the life of this contract. 
Supplies The following maintenance supplies in sufficient quantities, in order to keep University equipment in proper working order, will be required and included in the proposal price: a)   Urn cleaner* and brushes b)   Sight glass tubing and brushes**Material Safety Data Sheet will be required from Contractor.
MaintenanceThe Contractor shall perform on a monthly basis routine preventive maintenance on University-owned coffee-brewing equipment used for dispensing specialty coffees.  Brief written reports (check list form preferred) shall be furnished to the using unit by the service person at the conclusion of each maintenance call detailing the maintenance performed, supplies and parts used.  Contractor  must supply the check list form used Daily cleaning shall be the responsibility of University personnel. Contractor must perform all maintenance on site unless University has granted permission to remove equipment from site. 
Contractor must maintain an inventory of items required in this contract.  The University reserves the right to inspect the proposer's facilities to determine acceptance or rejection of your proposal.
ServiceThe Contractor shall be responsible for deliming of specialty coffee urns at least twice per year or more if needed.  This procedure should be scheduled with University personnel at mutually convenient times.  It is expected that this deliming will be professionally handled by qualified, experienced service people.   The Contractor shall furnish loaner equipment within twenty-four (24) hours, or as mutually agreed with the Union, to replace any University-owned specialty coffee equipment which cannot be repaired on site.
Emergency Service should be provided within six (6) hours of notification on a five (5) day per week basis, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for all University-owned and/or contractor-loaned specialty coffee brewing equipment.  Such service may be supplied either by the contractor or his designated backup local appliance service center. 
PartsThe Contractor shall supply all parts and labor to install all standard repair parts for University-owned specialty coffee brewing equipment.  The University will pay Contractor's costs on parts.  Manufacturers price list for the parts used must be provided and submitted with the invoice for payment to be made.
