SCOPE: Contract for the purchase of Medical Mailing Containers for the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH).

 

The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene is a statutory organization charged with supporting the residents of Wisconsin with quality analytical testing procedures for wide range of conditions.  Wisconsin Occupational Health Laboratory (WOHL) specializes in the area of environmental and industrial hygiene analysis.  The test of environmental fluids is part of those activities.  WOHL uses the containers in this solicitation to mail sampling containers to and from the customer.  WOHL performs thousands of samplings a year.

Item #1 – Utility Postal Mailer:

Specifications:
Outside dimensions of container currently being used are provided for reference and not necessarily the only acceptable size.  Inside dimensions reflect space needed to accommodate a single 20 ml or 30 ml conical specimen collection vial and accompanying paperwork. 

 

  • Outside dimensions: (2 pieces combined) 2-1/2”Dx2-1/2”Wx7”L
  • Inside dimensions: 1-1/2”Dx1-1/2”Wx6”L 
  • Approximate wall thickness:  7/16” to ½”
  • Current weight:  approximately 1 oz.
  • Current bulk density: 2 lb. per cubic foot

 

A variance of up to 1” for each dimension will be allowed providing it does not result in an increase in shipping costs or compromise the security of the contents.

Must be 2 pieces and designed with a positive interlock feature.

2.

Must be made of inert low fluid absorption material that can demonstrate a high level of durability for multiple shipping cycles.
