SPECIFICATIONS
The scheduled maintenance portion of the contract does not include repair of units damaged by accidents, physical abuse or misuse, forces majeure, and fires.
The contractor shall perform a complete preventative maintenance check of each item of equipment indicated with an asterisk (*) on the Itemized Bid List and provide written certification that each unit has been adjusted to operate within terms of FCC license authorization and manufacturer’s specifications. Items such as portable radios, pagers, mobile units, walkie talkies, etc. need not be included in preventative maintenance checks. However, these items must be serviced/repaired within the confines of the service contract. The following other items shall also be checked and/or adjusted:
- Transmitter power output, nameplate or FCC authorized if less than nameplate power +0, -2db
- Receiver sensitivity, nameplate sensitivity +0, -2 db
- Frequency
- Modulation
- Line level where appropriate
- Security and cleanliness of all wire terminals
- Security and continuity of antenna and coaxial cable
- Security and condition of mobile radio cables
- Security of attachment of all mobile radio items
- Clean and adjust all mechanical parts including locks, hinges, relays, etc.
A written certification of this inspection will be delivered to the owner within ninety (90) days of the effective starting date of the contract awarded, and is to include full cooperation with examination of the contractor’s records of said inspections as may be required by the owner. A similar preventative maintenance check should also be performed at the beginning of each term of the contract.
Maintenance and Repair
- Contractor should be able to report on a semi-annual basis all products purchased against this contract.
- Contractor must provide a licensed technician to be on site within four (4) hours of request for service to check and service reported malfunctions in base, repeaters, or control equipment.
- All portable equipment delivered to contractor for service shall be returned to full service within 48 hours.
- Contractor must provide 24 hour, seven days a week emergency service.
- There will be no limit to the number of service calls to contractor.
