SCOPE: Contract for the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), for sensitive data search/discovery software and maintenance along with implementation services and training. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a public, land-grant institution that offers a complete spectrum of studies through 12 schools and colleges, with more than 41,000 students from every U.S. state and 120 countries, and more than 16,000 employees. Historically data has been propagated throughout our systems; on user desktops, on servers and in databases. Automated tools are needed to assist in identifying, counting and reporting this data to facilitate this process given the vast and diverse data repositories in use today. This contract is for a software tool which finds restricted or sensitive data and reduces the risk of data loss by allowing users and IT administrators to take appropriate remediation actions. The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides enterprise level information technology for the UW-Madison. This software may be used centrally or within individual departments on Campus. Note: UW-Madison purchased a campus-wide site license, therefore Madison campus departments do not need to purchase additional licenses. |
