SCOPE: Contract for Associated Students of Madison (ASM) for the purchase of sexual assault crisis services.

The University of Wisconsin – Madison student government, ASM, supports sexual assault crisis services in Dane County in order to ensure that sufficient support services are available to students on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus.

SPECIFICATIONS

A) Advocate Services:

  • The firm must provide independent (non-University) advocates to students of the University who are victims of sexual assault.
  • The advocates must be available 24-7 to provide emotional support. 
  • The advocates will assist victims as they report to law enforcement, seek medical assistance, or engage in legal or UW proceedings.

B) Crisis Line

  • The firm must provide a toll-free sexual assault crisis line operated by trained counselors.
  • The line must be available 24-7 to every student of the University. 
  • The line must provide crisis intervention, problem solving, safety planning, and provide information about the decisions a sexual assault victim faces regarding reporting to law enforcement and / or seeking medical treatment.
  • The line should also be available to provide information to friends and family of victims.

C) The firm must be a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that has been existence for a minimum of 5 years. 

D) The firm must be located within 15 miles of Bascom Hall, 500 Lincoln Drive, Madison, Wisconsin, 53706.

E) Outreach

  • The firm must provide regular efforts to profile the services of the firm.  These services must include outreach efforts surrounding student orientations and welcome events.  Additionally, the organization must provide regular outreach throughout the course of the academic year.  
  • The firm should work with existing student organizations on promoting general information on sexual assault.
  • The firm should be available (to a reasonable extent) to provide training for students, faculty, and staff.
  • The firm must make deliberate efforts each semester to advertise their services to the campus, especially in University housing.
