SCOPE: Contract for the UW Madison Electric Shop is responsible for buying new emergency speaker phones on an “as needed basis”, and their repair parts to maintaining existing emergency speaker phones on campus.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR UW MADISON CAMPUS
EMERGENCY SPEAKER PHONES AND HOUSINGS

 

1.   Speakerphone:

Single pushbutton.

Comply with American with disabilities act (ADA) Standards.

120 Volt AC Powered with separate standard phone line on the University’s Centrex System.

Auto Pickup – Ability to call from any remote touch tone phone for programming and listening.

Auto Disconnect – Ability for dispatcher to call in and disconnect from their end.

Operating Ambient Temperature of -4O° F to 120° F.

Exposed finish shall be stainless steel.

 

2.  Pedestal Housing description:

Shall be 12 3/4" Steel Pedestal type / 9 feet tall.

Shall be Safety Red color with graffiti resistant finish.

Shall have graphic lettering which reads: Emergency displayed clearly on both sides.

Speakerphone must be able to be mounted in housing with tamper resistant  Hardware.

Speakerphone mount must be inset with light.

Shall have one 24 hour 120 volt ac  high-pressure sodium light with "Blue" UV resistant lens near top of unit for area illumination.

Shall have top‑mount 1 million candlepower "Blue" strobe which flashes on activation of speakerphone.

Shall have Modular connections with surge protection for speakerphone.

 

3. Wall Mount Housing description:

Shall be 12 gauge Stainless Steel Wall type>1/8".

Shall have a graffiti resistant finish.

Shall have graphic lettering which reads: Emergency displayed clearly on both sides.
