ARGON AND LIQUID NITROGEN QUALITY SPECIFICATION

I. Product Origin

All liquid nitrogen shall be produced by the Air Liquification Process.

II. Analysis - shall meet the following maximum/minimum limits:

Argon Guaranteed Analysis (PPM v/v)

Nitrogen: <15ppm

Oxygen: <10ppm

Liquid Nitrogen Guaranteed Analysis (PPM v/v)

Assay: 99.995% minimum

Odor: None

Carbon Monoxide: 2 PPM maximum

Water: 3.5 (90F) PPM maximum

Oxygen: l0 PPM maximum < 5ppm

III. National Formulary Certification (N.F.)

All liquid nitrogen shall meet or exceed all N.F. requirements, as specified by N.F.

2. Biochemistry #2 – 433 Babcock

Furnish and install (at vendor's expense) a bulk 1350 gal. Liquid Nitrogen storage system for liquid withdrawal only, at the estimated rate of 66,000 scf/month.

3. Chemistry Building - ll0l University Avenue

Furnish and install (at vendor's expense) a bulk 9200 gal. Liquid Nitrogen storage system to provide both liquid and gas withdrawal at the estimated rate of 866,000 scf/month.

Gas withdrawal system is connected to existing building distribution system. Supply pressure of gas shall be 25 PSIG.

Vendor must furnish and install at vendor’s expense 2 regulators in series to prevent surges in building system pressure.

Chemistry requires the automated defrost timer, one defrost per day, on a two-circuit evaporator coil for its 9000-gallon vessel. Pipe evaporator coils with fins have pipe on 12" centers, 3.5" space between fins.

Shall deliver in single axle truck. Configuration of Chemistry loading dock and driveway restricts access to liquid nitrogen vessel by semi-truck tanker.

4. Engineering – 1339A Engineering Hall

Furnish and install (at vendor's expense) a bulk 9200 gal. bulk Liquid Nitrogen storage system to provide both liquid and gas withdrawal at the estimated rate of 243.000 scf/month. Usage may decrease.

Furnish and install (at vendor's expense) two bulk vessels - one 500 gal. Liquid Nitrogen storage system for liquid withdrawal only, at the estimated rate of 84,000 scf/month and one 900 gal. Argon for liquid withdrawal only at the estimated rate of 60,000 scf/month.
