Tax Workshops for International Visitors And Applying for Social Security (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification (ITIN) Numbers

Purpose:

Workshops are held that will provide an overview of your tax obligations while in the United States and receiving income from the University of Wisconsin

Attendees:

Bring the following with you to the workshop:

Immigration DocumentsOriginals (passport, visa, I-94 card, and I-20/DS-2019/or I-797.  If you have an EAD card, bring that also), and the Letter of Offer from your employing department.
Note:  International Tax Packets will be available at the workshop.

IMPORTANT: This is a presentation, not a walk-in session. Late arrivals may not be allowed to participate.  Plan to arrive 10 - 15 minutes before the session begin times shown below, and to stay for the entire session.

Onsite Application Procedure (Fall Only)
IMPORTANT:  You must attend the tax workshop (above) and apply for your SSN or ITIN number on the same day.

Students Note:  the International Student Services office will be onsite to provide you with a Designated School Official Letter.
