Student Loan Statistics 2000/01

Federal Loans and most Long Term Institutional Loans were maintained by a mainframe system which was developed in the 1960's by Madison campus programmers. As of August, 2001, the University of Wisconsin-Madison contracted with University Accounting Services to provide billing services.

Short Term Loans, and a few Long Term Institutional Loans are maintained by a PC system which was developed by the Bursar's Office staff.

In addition to processing loans for students on the UW Madison campus, we also are responsible for the billing and collection of Perkins Loans which were taken out on the UW Green Bay campus, or a UW Colleges campus. Loans from the majority of other University of Wisconsin campuses are serviced by University Accounting Service.
