Nurse or Medical Technician
For cancellation as a nurse or medical technician you must:
- work full-time as a nurse
OR - work full-time as a medical technician.
Eligibility as a Nurse
You must be a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse, or other individual who is licensed by the appropriate state agency to provide nursing services.
Eligibility as a Medical Technician
A medical technician is someone who assists, facilitates, or complements the work of physicians and other specialists in the health care system.
Examples include:
- therapist
- dental hygienist
- operators of medical machinery
- nutritionist
In addition, you must be certified, registered, or licensed by the appropriate state agency in the state in which you are providing health care services.
Rate of Cancellation
Any interest that may have accrued during the year of eligible employment will be canceled. In addition, the following percentages of the original principal loan amount will be canceled.

| Third year | 20% |
| Fourth year | 20% |
