Volunteer Service
For cancellation due to voluntary service you must:
- serve as a Peace Corps volunteer
OR - volunteer under the Domestic Volunteer Service Act (ACTION program)
An authorized official of the Peace Corps or ACTION program must sign your cancellation form to certify your service.
Rate of Cancellation
Any interest that may have accrued during the year of eligible employment will be canceled. In addition, the following percentages of the original principal loan amount will be canceled.

| First year | 15% |
| Second year | 15% |
| Third year | 20% |
| Fourth year | 20% |
