1098-T Forms for Non-Resident Alien Students

1098-T forms are provided to Non-Resident Alien Students (International Students) for informational purposes only; generally non-resident aliens do not qualify for Education tax benefits if they are filing a non-resident alien tax return.  Please be advised that your receipt of a 1098-T form does not indicate that you are a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien for tax purposes, or that you are entitled to any education-related tax benefits.  Education Tax Benefits are afforded to U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens when they file the applicable U.S. Tax Returns, if they qualify. If you have any questions or need additional clarification please access the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov  and review Publication 519 US Tax Guide for Aliens (http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p519.pdf).
