Travel Authorization and Tax Exemption Letter
Note: The maximum lodging rate is $70/night for a single room for all in-state counties other than Milwaukee , Racine and Waukesha . The maximum lodging rate in Milwaukee , Racine and Waukesha counties is $80/night for a single. The contract properties are expected to offer last room availability at the stated contract rate unless reservations are attempted during one of the properties stated blackout periods. Employees may not exceed the maximum lodging rate and have it paid through the university unless they can document the exception that unavoidable additional expenses would be incurred by trying to adhere to the specified maximums.
All UW guests may use the contract properties providing they have a Travel Authorization and Tax Exemption Letter. This letter must be signed by the Department Chair or Business Representative who is acting as host. The traveler must present the letter to the hotel's front desk personnel in order to receive the contract rate and tax exemption.
The in state lodging contract rates are not availalbe for personal use.
