General Information/Counseling Appointments
The Office of Human Resources (OHR) has started a new one-on-one appointment service to better meet campus employee needs. OHR has a centralized appointment desk that can be accessed via the Web or by telephone. Here are some questions and answers about the new service:
Why would you request an appointment?
There are many individual reasons why you might want to meet one-on-one. For example:
- You may be new to UW employment and have questions about benefits, enrolling in benefits and enrollment deadlines.
- You may be in the middle of your career and after attending the Mid-Career Benefits Workshop, want one-on-one counseling about saving for retirement.
- You may have attended a pre-retirement workshop, have a retirement date in mind and you want more, specific information.
- You may have had a change in family status (divorce, marriage, birth or adoption) or employment and require information on how it affects all of your benefits.
How do you make an appointment?
Call 265-2257 or make an appointment.
Whether you call or register at the Web site, you will be asked to provide the following information so that we can prepare for your visit:
- Full name.
- E-mail address.
- Home and office phone numbers
- Appointment purpose (i.e. retirement, termination, disability, benefits check-up, TSA, etc.).
Also, please advise if you require special accommodations. OHR will set up an appointment time for you and confirm by phone or e-mail.
Appointment slots fill up quickly, so please plan your appointment well in advance.
Where are appointments held?
Most appointments are held at 21 N Park Street, Suite 5101 . However, arrangements can be made to have a benefits specialist meet with you at your office as well.
For employees who use the bus, there are bus stops near 21 N Park Street. If you drive, limited metered parking is available at the building.
